Bellowhead’s first full album, Burlesque, was released in September 2006. Currently at no.1 in HMV’s folk charts!
A big thank-you to everyone who attended our 2 launch gigs in
JUNE 2006
Festival season is upon us again, we’ve already played Knockengorroch and Grassington festivals in May & June and the lions share of them will be coming up in July & August, check out the tour dates page for all the information. We’ve had 4 new additions to the Bellowhead entourage since the last news!! 4 baby girls, Polly Boden, Mossie May Kirkpatrick, Josie Flood and Bryony Spiers were born in March, April, May and June respectively! We hope to be able to bring you some pictures from the girls at their first festivals before too long.
Speaking of pictures, we have some new photos in the gallery which were retrieved from Gideon’s mobile phone taken during the October 2005 tour ... They are certainly quite interesting and give some idea of what it is like to live with Bellowhead in a van for 19 days!
Things are moving nicely with the album launch which is still planned for September, we are planning one or more launch dates in October 2006 to give the album a nice welcome. Of course, you will be able to buy the record from the Spiers & Boden web shop as soon as it is released (and from all good high street record shops!!).
And finally, after a year and a half working for the band, we have parted company with our management at Queen Mab’s music. You can find all the contacts you need at the new contact page here.
Peace, Bellowhead
MARCH 2006
A slightly belated Happy New Year to everyone from everyone in Bellowhead, most of us had a really good rest over the Christmas period and were ready for the first gig of the year at Celtic Connections in Glasgow. The gig at the Garage was a real success and we’d like to thank the all-star trio, Lau who provided some amazing music as the support, you can find out more about Kris, Aidan and Martin at the Lau website. Also, a big thank-you to everyone who came and supported us at this gig.
As some of you might be aware, we’ve recently signed a record deal with German company Westpark, and we wasted no time following our return from Glasgow. Ably assisted by top production team Ben Mandelson and Rob Keyloch, we recorded the first full Bellowhead album at Livingston Studios in North London. Although the release date has not yet been officially announced, we are pretty confident that the record will be released late summer / early autumn. Whatever the date, you will hear it first here.
Coming up for the band: We’ve got a bit of a break before going back on tour in April - all the tour dates have now been finalised, check the gigs page to see if we’ll be playing near you. We’ve also got a lot of new festival dates booked in for the summer.
Peace, Bellowhead

On this tour we will be ably supported by Chris TT and we will also have special guests The Jim Moray Trio playing our London show at Shepherds Bush Empire which is also being filmed for a live DVD.
And on that note, we have become aware that some of you are experiencing a few difficulties with tickets booked via Amazon. This is the first time Amazon have sold concert tickets and It seems their system is suffering a few teething troubles. We've expressed concern to the ticket suppliers and are assured that the tickets will be dispatched in time for the gig. If there are any dramas (postal strike etc.) they will contact people individually and make arrangements on the night (they will have a full list of names).
We hope this hasn't caused any inconvenience.
Come along and enjoy the party....
